'It's only mineral water, not holy water'
MELAKA - Melaka Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) confirmed that the water used in a religious ceremony at a resort in Alor Gajah, is not holy water instead it was mineral water.
Its Chief Enforcement Officer, Rahimin Bani said initial investigations revealed that the water was supplied by the resort to a Buddhist association led by a monk from Taiwan.
"It is an annual ritual according to Buddhist belief which is performed by the resort to ask for good fortune and safety.
"They only used plain water supplied by the resort and it contained no mixture except for certain readings," he said here, today.
He added, people are asked not to easily upload, share pictures or status and information which are not valid as done by the individual in this case that ultimately led to chaos and confusion.
